Challenges Facing Girls Aged 10-16 in London Boroughs
Mental & Emotional Well-Being
Many girls experience anxiety, self-esteem issues, and lack of confidence, making safe spaces like Project Motiv8 crucial.
Physical Health
With reduced access to recreational activities, many young girls struggle with maintaining physical fitness and healthy habits.
Community & Belonging
Social pressures and digital distractions have limited positive in-person interactions, increasing isolation among young people.
Lack of Role Models
Many young girls lack mentors and guidance, impacting their ability to develop self-awareness and goal-setting skills.
Project Motiv8 addresses these issues by integrating structured mentorship with physical activity, fostering holistic well-being.

Founder’s Story
Hi, I’m Katrina Thomas, founder of UDA (Be Unique, Dream Big, Stay Ambitious) — a movement built on the belief that every young person deserves to feel confident, resilient, and inspired.
My journey began as a mother. Watching my son navigate school life made me reflect deeply on resilience, identity, and self-belief. I wanted him — and other young people — to grow up feeling capable and confident in who they are.
That led me to develop the “Movement, Mindset, and Mentorship” method — a holistic approach that blends physical activity, personal development, and community support.
Drawing on my background as a school dance and gymnastics specialist, I’ve seen firsthand how movement can transform confidence and well-being. I remember my own years, where dance became a space of healing and self-expression. I wanted to recreate that same empowering environment for the next generation. Through UDA and Project Motiv8, my mission is to help young people — especially girls — build strength, confidence, and a sense of self that lasts a lifetime.
